Transcend information has announced that the new stylish 1.8 inch portable solid state drive, SSD 18M will now be available in India. The SSD will come in three different capacities of 32GB, 64GB and 128GB.
Austin Huang, Regional Head, SAARC and APAC Transcend said, “We have combined the speed and durability advantages of the solid-state technology with the versatility of eSATA and USB connection interfaces. This has enabled us to come out with SSD18M, an innovative new type of storage device offering high capacity mobile storage convenience. This device is made of reliable NAND flash memory with no moving parts, which eliminates the possibility of mechanical failure and provides substantial weight savings along with reduced power consumption”.
Here are the key features of the device:
- Greater resistance to shock and vibration than other 1.8/2.5 hard disks.
- It offers guaranteed speed along with multi-platform compatibility due to eSATA and USB 2.9 interface options.
- Maximum read speed of 90MB/s and write speeds of 50MB/s.
- Has compatibility with all types of notebook and desktop PCs.
- The 50g device has a chic gloss diamond patterns and measures 80mm x 50mm x 12.5mm.
The 1.8 inch portable state drives come with a two year warranty and are priced at Rs. 7,000 (32GB), Rs. 12,000 (64GB) and Rs. 20,000 (128GB) respectively.
