Samsung Omnia and Dell Venue Pro to get Windows Tango Update!

Microsoft has started releasing the Windows Phone Tango updates. So far, Samsung Omnia W and Dell Venue Pro users could only get to experience the update as Microsoft is releasing the updates on these two handsets. However, it was earlier reported that Nokia Lumia 710 and 800 are getting the updates but the users confirmed that the update has yet not reached India.

So, it is just Samsung Omnia W and Dell Venus Pro who are receiving the updates. The users with handsets running on version 7.10.8107 Operating System will get their first update as to upgrade the OS version to 7.10.8112, then followed by a 7.10.8773 Tango update. The update will allow users to add files in MMS, exchange contacts and many other features. Even, phones like Dell Venue Pro, which is less used by youngsters now, is getting the updates which is a good sign for the customers.

The features which have been noticed with the update are internet sharing or Wi-Fi tethering and flip to silence. Internet sharing will enable users to access mobile internet over Wi-Fi using many devices simultaneously. It will turn your mobile devices into a hotspot (Wi-fi). About the other feature – flip flop, the phone will go in the silent mode when kept down faced, it will not make any sound, even on receiving incoming call, message or a mail. The update can be accessed using Zune software on a PC or Windows Phone 7 on a Mac by connecting their phones to PC or Mac with the USB cable.

The newly released Windows Phone Tango update is not even a demo. The present windows phone devices will not come with Windows 8. However, Microsoft is planning to provide an update to its current devices to provide them Windows Phone 8 start screen which will called as Windows Phone 7.8

Samsung Launches Galaxy Beam Projector Phone in India!

The highly anticipated Galaxy Beam Projector phone has finally been launched by Samsung in India. The phone comes with a mobile beam projector to display good definition videos along with the interchangeable adjustment with the size of the video.

Galaxy Beam runs on Android Gingerbread Operating System and is powered with a 1 GHz dual core application processor. It has 768 MB RAM and comes with 8 GB of onboard storage. The device sports a 4 inch WVGA TFT touchscreen display.

Qualcomm to provide SoCs to Windows Phone 8 Handsets!

Microsoft has confirmed that its partner Qualcomm will provide SoCs to Windows phone and the announced Windows phone handsets which will soon hit the market. The initial launch of the Windows phone which will be manufactured by Nokia, Huawei, Samsung, and HTC will all use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 Plus SoCs in their devices. It comes with 3G/4G World/multimode LTE modem and support Video up to 1080p High Definition quality. It has up to 1.7 GHz Dual Krait CPU and Adreno 305 GPU onboard with an LTE chip making it a very efficient system on a chip solution in the market. It is provided with a MSM8960 chipset. With the upcoming of Windows phone 8 handsets, Microsoft is set to ensure that no manufacturer use other SoCs in the new Windows phones.

Samsung has revealed that Samsung Nexus will make its Indian debut in March 2012. This could come in as a potential setback for Samsung SmartPhone lovers who had long been waiting for Android 4.0 operated Nexus but now will have to make a tough choice between Nexus and Galaxy SIII, which is rumoured to come out a month later.

Russian tech blogger Eldar Murtazin, famous for his inside sources and hit-or-miss record, recently tweeted on “HD resolution, 12 mpx camera, sw tweaks, android 4 – i like my new phone. Eager to see official announcement in Barcelona.”  This tweet is a strong indication of Murtazin personally owning a Galaxy SIII. The blogger has further hinted that Galaxy SIII will be running on 1.5 Ghz-1.6 GHz quad core chip, with suggestions being put forward that Samsung has tweaked their battery performance as well.
Though Samsung has officially announced their plans to release of Galaxy Nexus in India, they however haven’t provided much light on the availability Galaxy SIII. We all will have to wait until the Mobile World Conference event in Barcelona, to know more about Galaxy SIII release. How adversely the launch of Galaxy SIII will affect the sales of Galaxy Nexus in India is yet to be seen.

Samsung Galaxy Ace Receives Android 2.3.6 Update!

After Galaxy S2 software update was received a few weeks ago, Samsung has now started to roll out Android 2.3.6 software update for Galaxy Ace. Previously, Galaxy Ace was powered by Android 2.2(Froyo) OS.

Samsung has advised Galaxy Ace users to be patient as like other Samsung software updates this one too, will be released in batches. If you haven’t already received the update then it will be made available to you in next few days. Since no change log has been recorded yet, we are unsure what changes will actually take place, but it is being said that the software upgrade aims at incorporating better UI, stability and few tweaks to the device.
