Samsung Mobile has launched the INNOV8 in the Indian market. The ultimate entertainment mobile is supposed to strengthen the company’s existing multimedia phone portfolio in the Indian market.

Samsung Goes Green with Three New “Eco-Phones”!

According PC World, Samsung has introduced three new mobile handsets that are stated to be environment friendly handsets constructed from ‘green’ materials for their exterior and the insides of these phone are made from recycled material.
These three new phones are the F268, released in China; the W510, for Korea; and the E200 Eco, for Europe. The entire outer shells of these handsets are made from ‘bio-plastic’ made from corn.

Samsung Launches a New 8MP Camera Phone, The i8510 INNOV8

Samsung has officially announced the launch of one of the most feature-packed phones in the mobile market, the i8510 INNOV8. The quad-band GSM handset runs on a Symbian S60 smartphone OS and it sports a polished and quite sharp looking interface which gives the handset an ultra modern outlook.
The handset will be available in major European countries first and it will be priced approximately at Rs. 51,000 (780 Euros).
The 8MP Camera Phone is equipped with a 2.8-inch QVGA display that supports 16 million colors and a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels. Its auto focus camera feature also has an LED flash and an accelerometer for automatic screen-orientation adjustments. The handset is equipped with 128MB of RAM and a 3D graphics accelerator for high-end gaming purposes. In addition the phone is also preloaded with games such as “FIFA ‘08″ and “Asphalt 3,” and some other additional features include TV out, DivX playback, FM radio with RDS and DLNA compatibility too. The i8510 INNOV8 has a storage capacity of 16 GB (and an 8 GB version too} of onboard memory and it also supports external memory via microSD.
Living up to its reputation as being the most feature packed handset, the i8510 INNOV8 also has inbuilt GPS capabilities,Wi-fi, Bluetooth with A2DP, USB 2.0 connectivity as well as 3G with HSDPA support. Its media features and applications include stereo speakers, 3D surround sound effects, DNSe 2.0 and a standard 3.5mm audio jack which is considerably different from Samsung’s other multi utility proprietary ports.
Samsung Set to Launch Another Rugged Handset in India

When in Rome do as the Romans Do. Samsung has announced its plans to launch the GT-B2700 handset in the Indian market. Ideally, customized to the rough and rugged conditions of our country, the Samsung GT-B270 is a tough water and dirt resistant handset suited and fit for any condition.
The handset would be available approximately at the rate of Rs 14, 230 ($330) but the company has not announced any official release date as yet.
The candy bar handset has various other features includig a 1.9-inch TFT display with a 176 x 220 pixel resolution and an integrated FM radio music player. The Samsung GT-B270 has a 30 MB internal memory and support for external memory via microSD cards. It also features the B2700 supporting EDGE / GPRS and WAP and Bluetooth v2.0.
Reportedly, Samsung GT-B270 could also be upgraded to their earlier M110 model and it will also feature a built-in compass and altimeter besides other.
Samsung Unveils the New J800 Luxe Handset

Right after the recent launch of the L700, Samsung has unveiled the J800 Luxe at the Singapore Telecommunications Exhibition, 2008. But the pricing and availability of the Samsung J800 has not been revealed as yet.
The J800 is a mid-range slider, equipped with a 2.2-inch TFT display, and a resolution of 176 x 220 pixels and 256K colors. It also has several other features, such as a Bluetooth with an A2DP profile, external memory support via microSD cards, a media player and FM radio with RDS. It also comes with a built-in document viewer, HTML Browser and POP3/IMAP4 mail client. The Tri-band handset also comes with a 2 megapixel camera feature but without an autofocus function. However, the J800 sports photo blog function, which allows direct image uploading functions to blogs over a 3G connection.
The tri-band phone utilizes the UMTS (2100 MHz) technology for fast data transfers, and their ever popular Samsung’s Mobile Tracker and other multimedia features, such as the music and video player, FM radio with RDS is also part of the J800 Luxe’s make up.
Samsung Unveils F268, W510, Eco-Friendly phones!

Samsung has announced the planned launch of their latest eco-friendly mobile handsets. The Samsung F268 and Samsung W510 use bio-plastic material made from cornstarch that excludes some environmentally unfriendly materials such as brominated flame retardants and polyvinyl chlorides.

The SCH-W510 ‘Bio Cover Phone’ is a CDMA slider phone and it contains cornstarch for its bio-plastic material used for the phone’s battery cover. It also makes use of an environment friendly metal finishing process, in addition to an anti-bacterial material on its surface.
The SGH-F268 is a sleek GSM handset that has been stripped off brominated flame retardants (BFR) and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) to keep harmful materials at bay. This handset is accompanied by an environmental friendly headset and a charger.
According to Geesung Choi (President, Samsung’s Telecommunication Business) “Samsung is striving to continue to be a strong corporate citizen that contributes to environmental sustainability. Now we are trying not only to launch more environmentally-conscious products with more renewable material and less energy consuming, but also to expand and proactively set up a phone recycling system”.
Both handsets are due for a launch later this month with the SGH-F268 heading to the Chinese market first. Samsung also announced that it will stop using BFRs for new models to be developed from 2009 and PVC from 2010.
