Sony India Launches 10 Bravia LCD High-Definition Television Screens

Sony Corp., the leading global electronics company introduced several flat-panel LCD High-Definition televisions. The range of the new products include 5 models in the W, V and S BRAVIA LCD television series. Sony had already launched five models of its LCD range in the previous year and with the introduction of these 5 new products, the total count has reached 10.
The Bravia LCD screens features 20 to 52 inches of display sizes, and the products are available at select Sony stores across the country within a price range from Rs 24,990 to Rs 2,99,900. The LCD sets are imported from Sony’s production facilities in Malaysia and China, and they feature an increasing and expanding range of displayable colors. Read more
Panasonic Finally Launches Several New Models in the VIERA Series of Plasma Displays & LCDs

Panasonic has announced the launch and availability of its 2008 Viera range of plasma and LCD televisions in the Indian market. The new displays are available within the price range of Rs. 45,000 to Rs. 75,000.
In terms of both features and performance, this impressive new line-up reflects Panasonic’s quest to continually improve viewing quality, networking and environmentally conscious manufacturing. All the models sport four major features, which include outstanding picture quality, exceptional ease of operation, enhanced sound effects and environment friendly plasma display panels with an improved panel life of up to 100,000-hours. The functions now include a new ECO mode to help, lower the power consumption, and the range of TVs automatically adjusts the picture settings depending on the ambient lighting conditions. LG Launches the PG61, the World’s First Frameless Plasma TV

Right after LG announced the arrival of 5 new models in its Plasma series. The company is all set again to introduce the world’s first frameless Plasma TV, the LG PG6. This is the first product ever launched in the TV market that incorporates single-layer technology while completely eleminating the common screen border. The LG PG61 also won the “Best of innovations Award” at the 2008 Consumer Electronics Show.
The PG61 has a look that resembles a black sheet of glass and delivers an amazing and vivid viewing experience. The Frameless Plasma TV features a unique combination of frameless design, enhanced audio performance with invisible speaker features, like in its Scarlet Series. The main features of the product is that its HDMI 1.3 deep colour not only supports 30-bit, 36-bit and 48-bit color depths but it can increase contrast ratio and represent more shades of gray between black and white. The connectivity is also high with 3 HDMI ports, and comes with SIMPLINK features. It has the capabilty to playback DivX/XviD/AVI/MPG/MPEG/MPE movie files, MP3 audio files and open JPEG photographs on the wide screen through its USB 2.0 connectivity feature.

According to a CEA SmartBrief newsletter, LG says numerous consumer surveys showed that consumers wanted to see something more than just a conventional plain black TV. Unfortunately the release did not mention the cost and retail price of the PG61.

Sony Unveils Sony Bravia JE 1 Series Digital LCD TVs: The most Energy Efficient?

Sony Corporation has unveiled and released details about the upcoming launch of Sony Bravia JE1 Series LCD Televisions. The company has termed the new line in LCD TVs as one of the most highly efficient LCD TV series in the world. The all new Bravia JE1 Series offers the users with a stunning WXGA resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels, with an embedded HDMI interface, a contrast ratio of 25000:1 and also an in-built TV tuner card. The Sony Bravia JE1 Series LCD TVs are expected to hit the Japanese markets on July 15th 2008, with an approximate price tag of $1,389 U.S.
According to Sony, the Bravia JE1 Series LCD TVs are capable of minimizing annual power consumption to 86 KWH (Kilowatts) per year and has already been designed to reach the energy efficiency rate of 232%. Sony has incorporated flame-retardant plastic materials to enhance the chances of accomplishing ‘eco-friendly environment’ promises. In the upcoming Bravia series, Sony has used fluorescent tubes to provide highly clear display, at the same time consuming low levels of electrical power.
The Sony Bravia JE1 Series will also be the first to provide a radio frequency remote control that works on the 2.4 GHZ wireless communication technology.
