Samsung Launches SCH-R450 Messager!

Samsung has launched a sizzling new handset known simply as the ‘Messager’. This phone also named SCH-R450, is slated for the U.S markets as of now and is available only through MetroPCS carrier with a price tag of $199, that amounts to roughly Rs.8,354/-.
The SCH-R450 features a horizontal slider-design and is equipped with a full QWERTY keyboard. It also features the revolutionary Stereo Bluetooth® Wireless Technology, that enables a user to connect a bluetooth enabled headset to the phone. The ‘Messager’ carries a 1.3 MP camera, an MP3 player and a micro-SD slot for enhanced memory.
Some of the salient features of the SCH-R450 ‘Messager’ are:
- Push Email.
- Instant Messaging (IM)
- 20 MB Initial Memory. (Expandable with a microSD Card).

I have this phone. All you have to do is buy the sd memory card for the messenger and depending on your computer, get the micro sd slot and the usb micro sd card reader and when you have this; all you have to do is format the card and put the music files in the music folder on the card. The micro sd memory card will go in the usb micro sd card reader and the usb micro card reader will go in a usb port on your computer. Drag and drop the music files or personalized ringtones if you know how to edit the music files and make em to the folder in which it goes.
can you bluetooth full length songs and ringtones and play them back like an mp3 player? i.e. from an at&t phone (sony ericsson w580i) to a this phone through cricket wireless….

the phone is definitely compatible with serving the net, in fact I am serving the web on it right now 230.4kbps data Cable..slow but it’s better than nothing:)! You have locate the all the usb drivers for CD MA & SD Memory stick Storage, About the blue tooth feature SCH-R450…Yes you can send full mp3 song to the phone, work like a little Walkman, blue tooth serial port (SPP) ‘BT Diag..capable of serving web through blue tooth as well and w/ the correct codes HA..you can unlock many more feature of this sleek phone…Good Luck!

Q. How to transfer music through a PC and USB cable in the SCH-R450 Phone?
A. You can easily transfer music to your SCH-R450 handset, through a simple PC and USB cable. Here is how you do it?
Required – microSD memory card, USB cable and a PC
Caution – Don’t ever unplug the USB cable from the PC or handset during the data transferring procedure. This could damage your handset/PC.
Procedure – Follow the below mentioned instructions:
Firstly, you’ll need to insert the microSD card in the memory card slot of the phone. This is under the battery cover, on the left side of the handset.
Connect both, the handset and PC, to the USB cable.
Set your handset’s PC Connection to USB. Here’s how you do it:
Go to ‘Menu’. You can do this by pressing the OK key when your handset is in the standby mode.
Go to Settings (9th Option)
Go to Phone Settings (5th Option)
Select ‘PC Connection’, i.e the 7th option
Using the navigation keys, highlight the ‘USB Mass Storage’ Option
Then press OK in order to set the phone’s PC Connection setting to ‘USB Mass Storage’.
The handset will display the message ‘Connected to PC’ once the USB connection has been established. Simultaneously, a pop-up removeable disk box will appear in your PC.
Using the Windows explorer, click on ‘open folder to view files’. Now, click on OK.
Open another Windows explorer by clicking on ‘Explore’ after going to ‘Start’.
Browse to the location of the MP3 files on your computer and then drag and drop them into either of the two folders, the My_Music or My_Ringtones. Drop the file in ‘my_music folder’ if you want to place the MP3 in the music player library and in the ‘my_ringtones folder’ if you want it as a ringtone.
Now, after the transfer process is over, you can safely unplug the USB cable from both the PC & handset. Yo can now begin to play music on your favourite SCH-R450 Phone.
how do i get the drivers for usb…. i want to upload pics……why didn’t it come with drivers? thx
I have an R450, got a USB cable and installed the Samsung PC suite but my phone just wont connect to the PC. I see in my USBdevice view that of the 6 listing for the Samsung CDMA Technologies only one is showing connected. I am stumped. Any suggestions will be appreciated
