Iomega Introduces 2 New HDDs in eGo Range

The latest addition in the techy and safe line-ups of Iomega eGo Portable Hard Drive are the new eGo Encrypt and Blackbelt! Encrypt hard drive is based on encryption for double data protection, and that is why the feature is depicted in the name itself. It makes use of 128-bit Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) and has the capacity of protecting up to 320 GB of your valuable data. Every single time, you will connect the device to your PC, the full-disc hardware encryption will need a password. It automatically locks the drive, when you will disconnect it from the system.

The device is compatible with Windows 2000, XP and Vista operating systems.

On the other hand, the Blackbelt drive is geared up with Drop Guard Xtreme data protection to ensure maximum security for your precious data. The features are almost similar to its twin launch, but it has a storage capacity of 250 GB.

This 2.5-inch HDD Blackbelt has just one drawback that it lacks AES encryption, but the fact that it sports an amazing black color and supports Mac OS X 10.1 or above along with Windows 2000, XP and Vista operating systems, makes it a perfect choice for everyone.

Both the drives feature:

  • Iomega’s Drop Guard Xtrem
  • A strong rubber Power Grip
  • Powered by USB cables
  • EMC Retrospect Express HD software

Iomega eGo Encrypt and Blackbelt drives are priced at $120(approx Rs.6,000) and $150 (approx Rs.7,500) respectively.
