There is a huge buzz in the air and the words are out there on the streets. Dell is all set to launch the new efficient and budget Dell 500 Laptop in the month of August. The Notebook is exclusive designed to suit and match the environment and conditions in the emerging countries of Asia, including China and India. The significantly efficient and affordable Dell 500 laptop computer offers enhanced mobile computing in various configurations. It is priced at the starting range of Rs 24,500 and comes with a one year warranty.

In a recent media release, Dell Company President, Paul Henri Ferrand announced, “Dell has decided to focus on laptops world-wide as a strategic growth priority and the start of laptop production in India is an important part of our plan.”

Dell 500 provides easy connectivity and enhanced mobility features with Wi-Fi capabilities. The notebook sports an 8.9″ display screen, 8-in-1 media card reader and direct multi media playback buttons. Users also have the choice and options of utilizing the pre-loaded Microsoft Windows XP Home or Ubuntu Linux full application package.

The Dell 500 aims and is an attempt to deliver low-cost and affordable mobility to SMEs, education and the public sector as stated by Rajan Anandan, Dell Vice-President and General Manager, “the SMEs, education sector and the PSUs were among the fastest growing sectors for India’s IT industry and with the launch of Dell 500,these customers would now have an affordable easy-to-use laptop. He further added that “Dell 500 is the company’s first product designed for the specific needs of Indian customers, targeting especially the first-time PC users in education and SME segments.”
