Software giant Microsoft faced another trouble last Friday. This time it was about Windows 7 beta-palooza, which turned to mud, when the download servers of Microsoft were not able to handle the demand and had shut down after a few hours.
The whole idea behind this was that the first 2.5 million users, who signed on were supposed to receive a free full-features beta of Win7, and anyone who downloaded this would get a free version for 30 days. After one month, the version will get locked up till a registration key is entered (Which you will probably not get).
Those who grab the beta after Microsoft stops to deliver keys can install the operating system and run it under the usual 30 days trial policy of Microsoft. By using “slmgr-rearm” command that gained notoriety after Window’s Vista debut, you can also extend the trial period to 120 days.
Users have said that Win 7 is just Vista introduced after some tweaking. After the Vista was introduced, many users were not so-happy with its performance, but software and hardware vendors have now started to support Vista. They are expecting Win 7 to be a viable system for everyone and not just for few lucky users.
