Sony has unveiled its AD-7220S-ID, a dust proof drive designed especially for Indian market. The device has 6 sponges on the inside of the bottom cover, PWB and bezel. These sponges absorb dust and thus, increase the life of the product by 20%.

Yoshiaki Katcube, GM, Computer Peripherals Marketing Division said, “Dust is the main limiting factor in Indian, and we have worked closely to develop a product specially for the country to resolve the issue. The India-specific model is the result of hard work of our designers and production team”.

The device is compatible with DVD+R DL, DVD+RW, DVD-R, DVD-R DL, DVD-ROM, DVD+R, DVD-RW, DVD-RAM, CD-ROM (mode 1), CD-DA, Enhance CD, UDF (fixed/variable Packet mode), DVD-Audio, CD-ROM/XA (mode 2, form 1 and form 2), Photo CD, CD Extra, CD-TEXT, CD-I, VIDEO CD, DVD-Video, DVD-Audio.
