Sony Ericsson, the mobile company that is famous for its cool and stylish cell phones recently launched its new series of 8 megapixel and 12 megapixel camera phones at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

Sony Ericsson’s 8 megapixel W995 Walkman phone features:

  • A-GPS.
  • WiFi.
  • A 2.6-inch QVGA scratch-resistant display.
    DLNA support.
  • 118MB of onboard storage.
  • A Memory Stick M2 slot.

The 8.1-megapixel is decked with Cyber-shot features:

  • 16x digital zoom.
  • Auto-focus.
  • Face detection a flash.
  • Image stabilization.
  • Sony’s PictBridge.
  • A video recorder and picture blogging.
  • Stereo Bluetooth.
  • Messaging and email.
  • A voice recorder.

Other features include:

FM radio, phone as modem capability, USB mass storage, PC syncing, instant messaging, organiser applications, a speakerphone, gaming and direct access to YouTube.

On the other hand, Sony Ericsson “Idou” is decked with 12 megapixel camera (no CyberShot) and has the following features:

  • Xenon flash.
  • 3.5-inch widescreen touchscreen display.
  • DLNA-compatible WiFi.
  • GPS receivers.
  • Symbian Foundation OS - based on the Symbian platform and Nokia’s Symbian S60 UI.
