Picasa is derived from Spanish painter Pablo Picasso, the phrase “mi casa,” the meaning of which is “my house,” and “pic” that of course means “pictures.” It is a brilliant software application that is used to organize digital photographs for your system. It is an editing tool as well. It was originally created by Idealab but now it is owned by Google. It was in the year 2004, when Google acquired this software and began offering it for free download. For those having Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Linux, they can download the native applications from the Google Labs. And those who have Windows 98 and Windows Me, can only enjoy its older version.

The tool organizes all of your pictures including: jpeg, bmp, psd, tiff, and digital movie files as well. And it is much advanced when it comes to sending pics via email. The former process involves tedious tasks but Picasa allows its users to pick the size and then automatically attaches your pictures. Saves a lot of tome!

Picasa is decked with several hot features like: red eye correction, cropping without losing data, permanently change the original pic, color enhancement features, slide shows, image timelines, reduction of file size, printing images, setting up apt page layouts, and more!
