Nuance Updated Swype App!

Swype was bought by Nuance last year in October from its creators. The application provides a unique feature of allowing users to swipe their fingers through the touchscreen keyboard instead of lifting it up to type that has lead to its popularity among consumers. Nuance claimed that many phone manufacturers have already ordered for around 200 million phones with pre-installed updated Swype application.

It has been reported that companies like Nokia and Research In Motion which do not manufacture Android supporting devices have promised their future mobile phones to run on Microsoft Windows and they may use a software developer kit from the Swype owner, Nuance in order to create their own versions.

On the manufacturing of updated Swype enabled mobile phones, director of mobile input for Nuance, Brian Yee commented, “Some can be as quick as two months. Others can take a year.” The updated Swype software will act according to user’s behaviour and will come with default dictionary editing, multimodal keyboard and voice and text dictionary sync.
