Microsoft Unveils Windows Mobile 6.5
Hot news from Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona: Microsoft has announced a new marketplace for Windows Mobile apps.

The fact is there are more than 20,000 app that are available for the users, and thanks to this newly launched Marketplace that will make it easier for the users to find their preferred app.

“We’re working with partners across the industry to deliver a new generation of Windows® phones that break down the barriers between people, information and applications and provide great end-to-end experiences that span your entire life, at work and at home.” confirmed Microsoft chief executive officer Steve Ballmer.

Microsoft also gave its official word on the stopgap disaster relief measure known as Windows Mobile 6.5. Now it is officially confirmed that the next generation of Windows phones will be based on Windows Mobile 6.5 and will be furnished with a diverse range of features like a new user interface and a richer browsing experience.

Along with it, Windows phones will feature two new services:

  1. My Phone, to sync text messages, photos, video, contacts and more to the Web
  2. Window Marketplace for Mobile
