Google executive chairman Eric Emerson Schmidt has said that the next Android version dubbed Ice Cream Sandwich is about to get launched in the October/November time frame.

Ice Cream Sandwich will be Android’s version 4.0. The latest Android version as of now is 3.2, dubbed Honeycomb. In fact, Honeycomb is also the name of the two versions preceding it, viz. 3.0 and 3.1.

Ice Cream Sandwich will be a universal user interface, enjoying applicability across both Google mobiles and tablets. It is being heard that this upcoming Android version will contain elements of Honeycomb, and that of Android version 2.3 dubbed Gingerbread, as well.

In all probability, Ice Cream Sandwich is going to be a great offering from Google.
