Well, finally the wait is over and the eagerly anticipated Apple iPhone 3G has made its way in the International markets, with its debut in the ‘Land of the Rising Sun’, Japan. According to Akihabara News, at the historic launch of the new Apple iPhone 3G in Tokyo, there were near about 1,500 anxious iPhone enthusiasts waiting to become the proud owners of the Apple iPhone 3G. The iPhone 3G went on sale at the flagship store of Softbank Mobile in downtown Tokyo
According to Masayoshi Son (Head of Softbank group), “I’ve been saying this year marks the first year when cellphones will become Internet machines. Today is a historic day.” The launch itself seemed like the premiere of a Hollywood blockbuster. As the countdown hit zero, white smoke shot up in front of the store and curtains were pulled to reveal huge iPhone 3G images on the store walls.
Japan, probably has the highest number of Apple iPhone 3G fans, as about 1,500 people came over to the store. Many of them had forfeit their sleep and comfort and spent the night outside the store to catch the front row for the launch.
